The first step in the design process was making a mindmap of all the things that could be included or that might be relevant to an event app. From here I then choose to focus on a select few areas and pages that I thought would be the most useful and key to the success of the app.

I decided to design the app as if it was meant for this years festival and choose to incorporate the same themes and style they had used in the branding of the event.

From this I knew the colour scheme was going to be mainly red and white like shown.

Then I started to create a couple of different simple backgrounds for the app using photoshop and variety of different gradient effects. I choose only to use white for text at this point as working at this screen size, I thought it would get too messy on screen. After this I imported the backgrounds straight into Appfurnace, where I began constructing the app.

For the mobile development project I had to design and develop an app for an event or festival. I choose to make one for Simple Things Festival here in Bristol after having experienced, first hand a number of issues with the festival that I felt an app could address.

For Android
The app could be very easily transferred over to an android device with very little need for change. I managed to test it on a Samsung Galaxy s3 mini and it worked exactly the same as it had on my iPhone 4S.

Bigger screen size may perform differently, but this could be easily solved by optimizing and adjusting the apps' layout and to accommodate the various sizes of phones.

Room for improvement
From here I then was able to write a functional specification of all the requirements of the app;

1. Information must be easy to find and pages easy to navigate.
2. Pages must have animations between moving.
3. Must include a GPS functioning map.
4. The app must look and feel professional.
